    Updates on life...

School - I took the Spring semester off because between my parents and I, there wasn't enough money.  I've had a blast and I love the carefree lifestyle.  However, I hated that I wasn't growing every day, such as I did when I was in classes.  So, I am registered for the upcoming Fall semester.

Work - It's still pretty much the same.  Hacienda took full advantage of my open availability and at times had me working anywhere from 40-55 hours a week.  They are also using my knowledge of many positions and I've been serving, bartending, and hostessing.

Relationship - Shane is still overseas and will be home for 2 weeks of leave at the end of July and beginning of August.  I read a previous entry and I was rediculous to think that things would be okay.  The distance is taking it's toll, that's for sure.  We are drifting apart.  It's a good, but bad thing.  Bad, in the sense that who knows where this relationship will go after Shane comes home for good in December.  Good, in that I'm pretty much being forced to be on my own.  I have grown a lot and learned things about myself that I was unsure of before.  My dreams and plans for the future have kind of molded themselves and I'm so ambitious to make it all happen for me.  I wish I would have realized these things earlier in life...maybe then I wouldn't have been so eager to rush it.

Friends - In this time alone, I have met so many people and rekindled friendships with some people from high school.  It has been a lot of fun putting myself out there and getting to know new people.

Family - Everyone is doing well.  Mom is still taking classes at IVY Tech. to become a nurse.  Doug still lives in Chicago Sunday night through Friday afternoon.  Branden is awaiting his upcoming marriage and getting out of the Air Force so he can pursue his dream of being a chef.  Megan is happily married to Chris and the live in Indianapolis.  Tara graduated from Air Force basic training and is currently in Tech School training for Security.

  • Yea, so I totally spaced that I still had this.  Thanks to my good ol' friend Jon, I thought I'd get on and see if anything new has been going on...  I'll try to update better.

  • Here I am, nothing much in my life seems to change a whole lot anymore...

Classes are going well this semester, and I might actually be moving on in the Education program at IPFW.  I love my intern teacher this year.  She is great!  My students are so funny and can be quite obnoxious but they're wonderful.

Hacienda is the same.  I bartend a little more now than I had been before, which is nice for me - more money!

Shane is still in New Jersey and will be home for about a week and a half during Christmas.  We'll be heading up to Michigan for a couple of days to ourselves.  We are planning on having our own little Christmas, skiing, eating at a nice restaurant, and experiencing a winery.  I CAN'T WAIT!!!  After New Years, he will head off to Iraq (unless the government decides to pull some of the troops out, then he might stay here).  We are pushing through this together and we talk as much as possible.

    That's all for today.
